What is Na sunčanoj strani?

On the Sunny Side is a nonprofit service created by the Green Energy Cooperative (Zelena energetska zadruga - ZEZ) to accelerate the use of solar energy in Croatia. It is a one-stop-shop for installation of solar PV systems for households and companies.

On the Sunny Side also provides numerous educational opportunities to support citizens and companies in deciding on investing in a solar PV system that will pay off long term.

Small solar panels for households are supposed to lower the cost of electricity by 80% immediately after installation and keep it in the future. In the long run, they increase the value of your property, and ensure savings over 25 years.

Not only does owning a resource of energy make you more energy independent, but it also reduces the state's dependence on energy imports. It makes households save money on energy now and be more resilient to rising energy prices in the future.

Challenge

Even though solar panels decrease energy costs for households, not many people are familiar with this technology. Moreover, the ones who would like to use solar energy, need help finding the right information, support, and the best option for themselves.

Our challenge was to find the best way to create a new website that would be easy to use as a customer, helpful for tracking traffic for the owner, and SEO optimized for both customer and owner.

Solution

On the Sunny Side has a visual identity that is intuitive and effective while providing information about, the procurement and installation of a small solar power plant for the household.

How did we make it?

In our process, we have done:

Analysis: Engaged in early and ongoing user involvement to tailor our approach to market and user needs.

Agile Design & Development: Focused on user-centric design and continuous development iterations, integrating HTML/CSS and WordPress with system architecture.

Green Hosting Setup: Chose an eco-friendly hosting server, optimizing for performance and environmental impact.

SEO & Content: Continuously updated and refined SEO and content strategies for optimal online visibility.

Testing & Improvement: Employed continuous testing and refinement at each stage, ensuring ongoing improvement and alignment with project goals.

Conclusion

Access to electric energy makes it harder to drag attention to solar panels for private usage. This is true especially in Croatia where costs of electric energy are 40% lower than in the rest of Europe. However, considering expected growth in electricity costs and environmental pollution, solar panels become a great solution.

On the Sunny Side is a great choice for investing in solar panels, especially because, unlike other competitors, it comes with its own mobile app that helps users track energy consumption.
